WHERE DID IT ALL START?
MotoRevolution started in about 2017, although it's difficult to actually determine that, as it grew out of a hobby.
I have been woodturning for a good number of years, although I don't profess to be as accomplished as many of the great turners that you may see at craft fairs, and struggled to achieve those high standards.
Being an engineer, I have always been interested in mechanical parts, and have accumulated a hoard of bits and pieces over the years - most are from old motorbikes that I have owned and raced over the years. Being a typical man - I am reluctant to throw things away - that might be useful one day!!!
So one day, whilst clearing out my garage prior to a house move, I came across some boxes of parts, started to look through them, and nostalgia took over! I thought - 'I can't throw these away', but it seems stupid to just chuck them back in the box again. So I started to look at the items, and a thought came to me about maybe incorporating these parts into some kind of functional item - upcycling and repurposing were becoming the latest trend - so it became a logical step to explore.
Initially, I was looking at trying to create objects - mainly lamps - from recycled metal parts, but then the idea came to me that I should also incorporate turned wood and that really was the inspiration for the items that I produce now.
